Cold Weather Care: Freeze casualty...need advice

    The FL freeze fried my poor boug...It's got a fairly big trunk and I was wondering how much I need to cut it back in order for it to (possibly) grow again.

    Hi Puxesaco,

    If you're not expecting another freeze any time soon, you can cut it back all dead branches. To check to see if branches are still alive, scratch at the stem with your fingernail...the thin layer should scrape away easily and show green underneath. If it's white or brown underneath, then the branch needs to be trimmed off.
