I want to share a recent article published today in The Times of India that caught my eye. I just love it when bougainvillea are used in unusual ways! In New Delhi, Municipal Corp. of Delhi has proposed planting bougainvillea at various landfill sites throughout India. These “bougainvillea parks” will be developed on three different city landfill sites. Covering these sites with mud taken from construction sites has already begun. Next, bougainvillea will be planted to add aesthetic beauty to these sites. Wouldn’t it be amazing if municipalities in the U.S. could do the same for our eye-sore landfills? One can only dream.
